Last month, my cousin’s wife sent me some beautiful fabric – pieces she’d purchased over the years, but never found the right use for, so she passed them on to me thinking I might enjoy the challenge. She knows me well.
Pictured above is one of the fabrics. Those gorgeous medallions are about the size of salad plates, so I grabbed an embroidery hoop and cut one to fit it. Here’s the result.
That’s it. No deep meaning in what I made or metaphors to follow. Just sharing that I do still, on occasion, make something of it.
And you see: that would never in a million years have occurred to me as an option. I’d have stared at the fabric, been totally flummoxed, then folded it up and put it away–or gifted it to someone else. And what you’ve done with it brings it to life. You are a Continual Creative.
How I admire someone who can look at something and see a beautiful creation. I just see a lovely piece of cloth.
