I built a fire and lit every candle in my living room. I pulled out my watercolors and doodled spring flowers. I did laundry and dishes, but gave myself permission not to go to the grocery today.
I drank plenty of water. I opened my curtains and stood in the sunlight. I let myself have caffeine and chocolate, but evened the scales by eating an apple, too.
I hugged my kids. I worked a crossword. I baked a fresh batch of brownies.
The voice that’s never completely quiet in my head said, “There’s got to be more to life than this.”
I told it, “There is. This is just a Saturday.”
And so you had an ordinary Saturday. (As in Pat Schneider’s poem, “The Patience of Ordinary Things”)
Yes. Enough.
Thanks for your blog. I remember vividly you giving me a tour at LPTS years ago. Now I winter on the banks of Lake Okeechobee and try to catch “dumb” fish and watch rocket launches from 140 miles away. Blessings, Mick
Sounds like a beautiful day ❤️ 🌞 🌸
